Uncrewed Surface Vessel Design & Engineering

BRYD provides specialist naval architecture, engineering and production design for uncrewed surface vessels (USVs).

Working with commercial operators, shipyards and technology developers, we design efficient, reliable and production-ready platforms for a wide range of maritime applications.

From initial concept and hull development through to detailed engineering and build support, we help clients bring new USV platforms to market.

Designed for Performance

Engineered for production

Every USV project presents different requirements, from speed, range and payload capacity to operational endurance and manufacturing cost.

BRYD develops vessel platforms around these requirements, balancing hydrodynamic performance, structural efficiency, equipment integration and practical construction.

Our experience spans high-performance hull design, composite and aluminium structures, detailed engineering and production support. We work alongside shipyards, autonomy providers and equipment manufacturers to develop platforms that are not only technically capable, but commercially viable to build and operate.

Proven Experience

NeedleFish 14m USV

BRYD led the naval architecture and global design of the 14-metre NeedleFish USV, developed with Ocean Infinity for the Kuwait Coast Guard.

The project demonstrates our ability to take a complex uncrewed platform from initial concept through to production within demanding timescales. Just four months after concept development, the design had progressed to production, with four vessels subsequently delivered.

The project brought together high-speed hull design, systems integration and production-focused development to create a purpose-built autonomous platform.
